Born and raised in Puerto Rico, Mayra is a maternal–fetal medicine physician and an avid traveler. Her love for exploring the world began in 2008 after organizing a medical mission to Lake Atitlán, Guatemala — an experience that ignited a lifelong passion for discovering new cultures and destinations.

In 2022, Empacaconmigo (“pack with me”) came to life. What began as a simple idea to share packing lists with a small Instagram community quickly evolved into something much more meaningful: a space that brings together women who share Mayra’s enthusiasm for travel and exploration.

By 2024, she led her first group trip, taking five women to the Faroe Islands — a remote and breathtaking destination. Since then, she has guided multiple groups of women to off‑the‑beaten‑path locations such as Cabo Verde, Borneo, the Canary Islands, Benin, and Pakistan, creating unforgettable experiences and lasting friendships.

In 2025, Empacaconmigo officially became a registered travel agency in the state of Florida. Today, it stands as a growing community of women travelers united by curiosity, courage, and a shared desire to explore the world’s hidden corners.
